Administrators / multi-tenant

FreePBX's "Administrators" Module (formally "AMP Users") allows the FreePBX administrator to create login accounts to FreePBX's web admin interface. This feature helps position FreePBX for large multi-department implementations where the administration responsibilities are shared. The Administrators Module also makes FreePBX a suitable solution for small multi-tenant implementations.

"Administrators" are granted a restricted view of the web admin. An Administrator will be able to perform administrative functions on a range of extensions, ring groups, and queues and can manage department/tenant specifc Digital Receptionist menus. CDR Reports and Flash Operator Panel will also present a range restricted view when accessed by an AMP User.

The Administrators Module is enabled by default in FreePBX 2.0. In older versions (of AMP), you must enable "AMP Users". To enable the "AMP Users" section of the web admin, change the AUTHTYPE setting in /etc/amportal.conf from "none" to "database". AMP will check authentication credentials after doing this, so you will want to remove any directory security from Apache's httpd.conf. To log into the AMP web admin, use the AMPDBUSER and AMPDBPASS in amportal.conf.

After logging into the web admin with AMPDBUSER/AMPDBPASS, the "AMP Users" admin section will be available. Use this section to create a new user account, and restrict its view to a Department, Extension Range, and AMP admin sections.

After logging on as an AMP User, you will:

- only have access to AMP admin sections you have been granted access to - only have access to Extensions within your allowed extension range - only have access to Ring Groups within your allowed extension range - only have access to Queues within your allowed extension range - only have access to Digital Receptionist menus created by you, or someone in your department. - have extensions you create added to a Directory specific to your department - only have access to your extension range in the CDR viewer - only have access to your extension range in FOP
