HUD Manager (manage hud's users.xml)

Reported by: liri Assigned to:
Priority: minor Milestone: 3.0
Component: Web interface Version:
Keywords: hud manager users.xml hudlite hudpro Cc:
Confirmation: Confirmed SVN Revision (if applicable):
Backend Engine: All Backend Engine Version:

Description

HUDLite/Pro have their own hud/users.xml file within the asterisk directory to control which users can connect to the hud server. As to now, there was no way to easily choose which users created within freepbx would be enabled in hud's users.xml file.

The module has currently several basic functions: 1. list users that are enabled in hud's database. 2. delete users from hud's database. 3. add users to hud's database.

Hi

A very nice little add-on 'cause editing this file manually is a pain.

I'll just write some things of my initial experience. Hope it is useful to you.

Probably a good idea to change the category in the XML to "Third Party Addon" just like on the tools page and update the version in the xml to 0.2. Also it might be an idea to have these on the tools page anyway in third party addon. I changed the xml file to do this but the addon stopped working.

The title 'Listing of SIP extensions in FreePBX' should probably read Listing of SIP and IAX extensions in FreePBX' as it lists both. When one selects some extensions and clicks on submit changes the page refreshes and the extensions added are listed in red. However the list on the right does not get populated. It would be nice if the list on the right was populated at this point as one has to do a refresh of the page to see the devices added.

Might also be worth noting above that the file gets created in /tmp/users.xml and needs to be copied over to /etc/asterisk/hud. Spent a bit of time working that one out!

In the defaults when adding extensions it might look better if instead of calling the extension 'device <xxx>' it is called 'Ext <xxx>' or have an option of manually setting this.

The xml created has a entry called 'buddy'. Can you tell me what this is for? I haven't kept up with Hudlite recently.

Again thanks for this. Very useful.
